The Alfred State baseball team sacrificed their Saturday to assist the staff and volunteers of Chemung County Habitat for Humanity with construction of the most recent Habitat home, located at 707 Broadway Street in Elmira.

Several of the athletes and their coaches appeared to have exceptional construction skills- while others with less building experience received guidance in carpentry and landscaping.

Jason Cronin, Coach of the Alfred State Baseball team, praised the members of the team for their work ethic both on and off the field, "We did the work because it's what we believe in- not for any recognition!"

Sara Liu, Executive Director of Chemung County Habitat for Humanity said, "We sincerely appreciate the help from Coach Cronin and the Alfred State Baseball team! We were able to complete in just one Saturday what would have taken us one month. What an accomplishment!"
