The Alfred State men's soccer team put together a second straight strong performance and blanked Penn College 2-0 on Saturday night. The Pioneers are now 2-1 on the young season.
Mitchell Porter (Alfred Almond) sent a long hard shot into the back of the net after getting a drop pass from Nick Donner (Lancaster) with just over five minutes left in the 1st half.
Torey Jinks (Dayton, OH) added an insurance goal in the 75th minute get a flip pass from Mike Leonardo (Sachem East). Jinks shot snuck in just below the cross bar.
The blue & gold held a 14-9 shot advantage including a 8-1 advantage in shots on goal. Kenneth Allport (Hilton) made one save to record his first career shutout.
Alfred State is back at it next Saturday when they travel to Pitt-Bradford a 1 p.m. contest with the Panthers.
