The Alfred State softball team fell in both contests at Onondaga CC on Tuesday. The Lazers won the first game 8-3 and the second 9-1.
In the opener, OCC led 2-0 until Brooke Gustin (Wellsville) collected a bases clearing 3-RBI single to give the Lady Pioneers their only lead of the game. The Lazers answered to tie it in the 3rd and took the lead for good with two runs in the 5th. Gustin finished 2 for 3 with 3 RBI on the day.
In the nightcap, Alfred was held to just three hits. Kristen Potter (Harrison Valley, PA/Northern Potter) drove home the lone run for the Lady Pioneers.
The Lady Pioneers (3-15, 2-9) return home on Thursday for a 3 p.m. doubleheader with Genesee CC.
