Errors Prove Costly to Lady Pioneers

The Alfred State softball team committed eight errors as Pitt-Bradford earned a sweep on Monday night.  The Panthers won 5-0 and 10-2 to improve to 21-11 on the season.

Bradford scored one in the 1st, two in the 3rd, and added two insurance runs in the 6th inning to put the game one out of reach.  The Lady Pioneers were held to just four singles as Jennifer Anthony threw a ocmplete game shutout.  Lura O'Keefe (Allegany Limestone) collected two hits of Alfred's four hits.

Four errors combined with 17 hits cost the Lady Pioneers in game two.  The Panthers led 5-0 heading into the 6th, Alfred State scored to in the top half of the inning but Bradford scored five more in the bottom of the inning to end the game.

Stormi Kruger (Medina) was the lone Pioneer with multiple hits finishing 2 for 3.

The blue & gold (11-15) return to action on Tuesday with a 5 p.m. doubleheader at Elmira.
