Pioneer Swimming: District Day 1 Recap

The Alfred State men's swimming team is tied for 4th after day one of the Northeast District/Region III Championships at Monroe CC.  The Pioneers have scored 66 points after day one of the three day competition.

Tyler Easterbrook (Bath) was 7th in the 500 free (5:31.73), Mark Pendleton (Beacon) was 7th in the 200 IM (2:12.27), and Josh McDowell (Wayland Cohocton) was 9th in the 50 free (24.52).

Easterbrook, Pendleton, and McDowell teamed with Jacob Drew (Victor) to earn 3rd place finishes in the 200 free relay team (1:40.41) and the 400 medley relay (4:11.67).

Maggie McBurney (Syracuse/Jamesville Dewitt), the lone Lady Pioneer in the competition, finished 9th in the 200 IM (2:55.83).

Action continues on Saturday with preliminaries starting at 10 a.m. and the finals slated to start at 6 p.m.
