Frascella, Laurie & Lohr Honored with Pioneer Legacy Awards

Kate Frascella (Franklinville), Josh Laurie (LeRoy), and Ryan Lohr (West Seneca) have been named the recipients of the 2020-21 Pioneer Legacy Awards. This award is given to the male and female athletes who have achieved success on and off the field throughout their career at Alfred State. The nominees have demonstrated sportsmanship and leadership, been involved in civic engagement activities, along with earning athletic honors during their career.
Frascella Named the 2021 AMCC Woman of the Year

Alfred State senior Katherine Frascella (Franklinville) has been named the 2021 AMCC Woman of the Year. She is a member of the Pioneers cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field teams, graduating with a 3.94 GPA in Nursing.
Quartet of Pioneers Named to AMCC Sportsmanship Team

A quartet of Pioneers have been named to the AMCC Sportsmanship Team. All institution sport teams which compete for an AMCC championship may select one member from their team who displays good sportsmanship throughout the season to be a member of the All-AMCC Sportsmanship Team.
Watkins and Linderman Named to AMCC All-Academic Team

Alfred State cross country and track & field athlete Katie Watkins (Addison) and soccer player Zack Linderman (Olean) have been named to the AMCC All-Academic Team.
85 Student-Athletes Named to Academic All-Conference Team

85 Alfred State student-athletes have been named to the AMCC Academic All-Conference team. 34.84% of the athletes that participate in AMCC sports at Alfred State were honored.
All Six Pioneer Runners Earn All-AMCC Honors

All six Pioneers that competed at the AMCC Cross Country Championships last weekend have run to All-Conference honors. Alfred State finished the race, their first since November 2019, in 2nd place in the team standings.
Pioneers Finish 2nd at AMCC Invitational

The Alfred State women's cross country competed for the first time since November 2019 and finished 2nd at the AMCC Invitational hosted by La Roche on Sunday afternoon.

In part one of highlighting the era that Alfred State was a member of the United State Collegiate Athletic Association I focused on the women's soccer team and their four straight trips to the National Championships. Here I will share memories of the three trips to nationals by the volleyball team, the women's basketball team's two trips to nationals, and the cross country teams history with the USCAA.
