Pioneers Fall to Hamilton

The Alfred State Men's Basketball team lost tonight's game against Hamilton 87-71. The Pioneers drop to 3-5 on the season.

The Pioneers were tied with Hamilton with midway through the first half. Locked at 22 with 9:47 to go, Alfred State scored six straight to take a 28-22 lead. Hamilton answered with a 17-0 run to jump ahead 41-30. The teams went into the locker room with the Pioneers down seven 41-34. The Pioneer comeback effort started early in the second half. A steal by Paris Jamison (Brooklyn, NY / East Side) turned into fast break points to cut the Pioneer deficit to four, 48-44. Hamilton eventually went on another run extending the lead and didn't look back.

Alfred State's leading scorer was Cody Schneider (Belmont, NY / Genesee Valley) he tallied 20 points and eight rebounds. Paris Jamison had 19 points and four boards. Jamison went 3-5 from three-point range and a perfect 4-4 from the stripe. The Pioneers shot 45.6% from the field and 40% from three in the game and only missed one free throw going 11-12 from the line.

The Blue and Gold is back in action at home on December 6, when they face Buffalo State. The game is set to start at 7 p.m.
