2022 Men's Soccer Preview
The Alfred State men's soccer team has been picked to finish third in the AMCC preseason coaches poll. The Pioneers are coming off a year that showed steady improvement throughout the season. Ending the season winning three out of their last four matches by a combined score of 13-4. Coach Gabe Kuhn enters his third season at the helm.
The Pioneer team is led by Andres Mateos (Batavia, NY/ Batavia) a junior midfielder, that anchored and facilitated Alfred State's offense. Andres scored two goals and totaled three assists in 2021. Sophomore midfielder, Jack Leahy (Pittsford, NY/ Pittsford Sutherland) started every game in 2021 as a freshman. He had an immediate impact recording three goals, four assists and ten points in 2021. Along with them, comes a deep group of Pioneers looking to establish themselves early in the upcoming season.

Home Opener: vs. Penn College (Wednesday, Sep. 07, 4 p.m.)
The Pioneers have an eighteen-game schedule, with eight of them to be played at home. The final regular season game is away, set to take place at Hilbert on October 25 in a conference match.
