Perlino Breaks Program Hammer Record, 4x100 and Walter Qualify for Regionals

The Alfred State men's track and field team competed at the ROC City Final Qualifier at Nazareth on Sunday.

Dylan Perlino (Holland) broke the Alfred State men's outdoor program record in hammer throw with a mark of 54.33m to finish 3rd. Perlino placed 2nd in discuss with a throw of 49.48. He is currently 3rd in NCAA Division III.

The 4x100-meter relay of Ryan Henderson, Zach Rudewicz-Nepokroeff (Williamsville East), Cameron Howard (Brockport) and Esaias Brumfield (Warners/West Genesee) qualified for the All-Atlantic Regional Track and Field Conference Championships after finishing 5th with a time of 43.50.

Derek Walter (Lancaster) qualified for AARTFC's in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 56.24 and finished 2nd. Walter is now 8th on the All-Time list for Alfred State.

Jesse Johnson (Horseheads) finished 4th in high jump with a mark of 1.80m.

Brumfield was 6th in the 100-meters in 11.16 and Henderson was 7th in 11.17.

Rudewicz-Nepokroeff was 9th in long jump with a mark of 6.43m and 12th in the 200-meters in 23.34.

Shawn Rosa (Middletown) was 10th in the 400-meters in 51.46.

The Pioneers will compete at the AARTFC Championships on Wednesday and Thursday May 18-19.
