Pioneers Open up Action at Oberlin

The Alfred State women's swimming & diving team had several solid performances on day one of the Oberlin Invitational.

Mikaela Snayczuk (Machias/Pioneer) had the best individual finish. She was 9th in the 200 IM (2:18.75). Madison Snayczuk (Machias/Pioneer) was 10th in the 50 free (25.47) and Alyssa James (Pittsford Mendon) was 10th in the 500 free (5:34.74).

The 400 medley relay team of James, Snayczuk, Snayczuk, and Mackenzie Gillette (Elmira Notre Dame) was 7th in 4:18.73 while the 200 free relay team of Gabriela Leite (Little Rock, AR), Sarah Konyndyk (Grand Rapids, MI), Gillette, and Sydney Koob (Plainwell, MI) was 9th (1:50.18).

The Pioneers sit in 6th place out of nine teams after day one with 146 points.

Action continues tomorrow at 9 a.m. with prelims and diving. Finals start at 6 p.m.
