Pioneers in Second After Day One at Championships

After day one of the AMCC the Pioneer Women's team finds itself in second place behind Empire 8 team Nazareth. The Pioneers are 6 points ahead of the closest AMCC competitor, Penn.- St. Behrend. 

In the first event of the night, the Pioneers placed second to Nazareth College. The 200 medley relay team of Alyssa James (Pittsford, NY / Pittsford-Mendon), Mikaela Snayczuk (Machias, NY / Pioneer High School), Gabriela Lite (Little Rock, AR / Little Rock Central) and Anna Ivery ( Syracuse, NY / West Genesee High School) were only three-tenths of a second behind the first place foursome.

The Pioneers also competed in the 800 free relay and placed fourth. Madison Snyczuk (Machias, NY / Pioneer High School), Adriana Gill (Camillus, NY / West Genesee), Alyssa James (Pittsford, NY / Pittsford-Mendon) and Mallory O'Keefe (Brighton, CO / Stargate Charter School) finished in 8:11.33 only 2 seconds behind the third place finishers.

The four day meet continues tomorrow morning.
