Pioneers End Regular Season with Win

The Alfred State Pioneers won final regular season game against Hobart today with the final score of 10-6. The Pioneers had four different players record multiple basehits.

After falling down 2-0 after the top of the second, the Pioneers began their scoring with a converted suicide squeeze by Gavin Moore. Entering the 3rd, the Pioneers were down 2 runs. Elijah Barinas knocked in a run with an RBI single. Nick Serce gave the Pioneers the lead with another homerun, driving in Barinas. Serce finishes his regular season with 18 homeruns. Putting him in 2nd place in the NCAA this season. In the bottom of the 4th, the Pioneers capitalized on a Hobart fielding error, extending their lead even more. 

Ryan Bailey, Chris Mattoon, Jon White and Caden Fortunato all took the mound for the Pioneers in a staff day to end their regular season. 

Alfred State Baseball concludes their most successful regular season in their NCAA history with a record of 25-14. The Pioneers will wait and see who they face in the first game of the AMCC Championship tournament at Pioneer field. The tournament is set to begin on Thursday, May 11.
