Strong 1st Half Lifts Fisher

St. John Fisher scored on their first eight possessions as they raced to a 56-0 victory over Alfred State underneath the lights at Growney Stadium.

James Chambers and Steven Strumolo each scored three times in the 1st half as they both rushed for over 100 yards. Chambers scored from 37, 1, and 26 and Strumolo scored from 9, 64, and 22.

After being held to no first downs in the 1st half, the Pioneers collected 11 in the 2nd half and reached the red zone twice but could not get in the end zone. The blue & gold outgained the Cardinals 125 to 18 in the 2nd half.

Strumolo rushed for 150 yards on eight carries and James Chambers rushed for 124 on nine carries. The Cardinals finished with 355 yards rushing on 43 carries.

Ben Wilkerson (Buffalo) was 14 for 35 for 95 yards. Romiio Littlejohn (Brooklyn) led the offense with six catches for 31 yards.

John Lauretti (Seaford) led the defense with eight tackles while Chris Monteiro (Sachem East) and Calvin Felker (Clyde Savannah) chipped in seven tackles.

Chris Smith led Fisher with 10 tackles and three sacks while Aaron Jones added eight and a sack. The Cardinal defense recorded five sacks on the day.

The Pioneers travel to Kentucky Wesleyan next Saturday for their final road contest of the season. Opening kickoff is at 1 p.m.
