The Pioneers Could Not Overcome Late Tiger Rally

Alfred, NY- The Alfred State men's basketball dropped a hard-fought game against SUNY Cobleskill 75-66. The Pioneers will have a 5-6 record going into the winter break.

Paris Jamison led the way with 15 points and three steals. Cody Schneider added 13 points and eight rebounds. Michael Miller came away with eight points, while Dylan Perry and Ryan Rosa scored seven points each.

 The first half started with a lot of back and fourth action. With the score 28-23 in favor of the Fighting Tigers, Schneider would get a steal and a dunk that led to a Cobleskill timeout. Following the timeout, Perry and Rosa knocked down threes to take a 31-30 lead. Cobleskill ended the half with an 8-3 run for the 40-34 lead.

In the second half, the Fighting Tigers were able to expand their lead to 52-39, before Jamison added a layup to stop the run. Following an Alfred timeout, Jacob Gonzalez cut the deficit back down to single digits with a layup. A few possessions later, Jamison made another layup to make it a 52-45 game. Gonzalez would make another layup off a Rosa assist to cut it down to a five-point game. From there, the Fighting Tigers would on a run a secured the victory to snap the Pioneers three game winning streak.
