Pioneers Picks Up Sixth Win Of The Season

Hackettstown, NJ- Alfred State ends the weekend on a good note as Garrett Potts tallies a brace as the Pioneers takedown Centenary 3-1. ASC moves to 6-1 on the season.

Potts two goals lead the way for the Pioneers. Eric Spring gave A-State a spark off the bench with a goal, while Jean Bastiste Kagde notched an assist. Brayden Fox saw five shots and saved four of them for a .800 save percentage on the day.

The Pioneers came out aggressive as Josh Price found a gap for a shot in the first 20 seconds of the game. A few minutes later Kagde found Potts in the box for a goal and the 1-0 lead. Four minutes later in the 22nd minute, Potts netted his second goal to take a 2-0 lead.

Centenary was able to get on the board early in the second half to cut the Pioneer lead down to 2-1.In the 76th minute, Spring subbed into the game, and would find space to net a goal for himself and give ASC a 3-1 lead.

Alfred State held onto their 3-1 lead to pick up the win. The Pioneers will return home this Wednesday (Sept. 20th) at 7 pm for a matchup against Alfred University.
