Pioneers Dropped Today's Doubleheader Against Behrend

Erie, PA - The Alfred State softball team dropped today's AMCC doubleheader against Penn State Behrend. The Pioneers dropped game one 14-1, then fell in game two 7-2.

In game one, Lauryn Engle went 1-2 for one RBI, while Madigan Harris went 2-2. The Pioneers lone run came in the third inning. With one out, Audrey Farrell singled up the middle and two batters later Caley Larsen reached on a fielder's choice to put runners on the corners. Engle would then step in the box and notched an RBI single up the middle to score the run.

In game two, Larsen went 2-3 with a double and an RBI, while Ma. Harris went 2-4 with a double. ASC got on the board first in their first at-bat. With one out, Ma. Harris came away with a double down the right field line. Then an RBI single up the middle by Larsen gave ASC the early lead. The Lions responded by scoring seven runs in the next few innings. The Pioneers was able to get another run across in the fifth. Abby Beidel led off with a single, and Olivia Kratts followed with a single to put a runner in scoring position. Them Farrell notched an RBI single to center field to cut the gap to five, 7-2. The Pioneers could not get any closer as they fell 7-2.
