Track and Field Continues Success

The Alfred State indoor track & field team had another solid day at the Ithaca Invitational. The Pioneers had twelve top ten finishes on the day.

Victoire Kothor (Rochester/Greece Odyssey) won the shot put with a toss of 12.40 m and was 4th in the weight throw (14.11 m) to lead the way.

The women's 4x400 relay team of Maddi McDonald (Lansing), Casey Bills (Hudson Falls), Angel Bresnahan (Mexico), and Cassandra Ryan (Gloversville) finished 3rd in 4:26.63. Bresnahan was 8th in the long jump (4.71 m) and finished the 60 m in 8.68. Both performances were 9th best in school history. Diane Sill (Kendall) was 4th in the 500 (1:27.27).

Joseph Richardson (Geneva) had the top finish on the men's side. He finished 4th in the triple jump (12.52 m). The 4x400 relay team of Jonathan Pearl (Campbell Savona), Kyle Jones (Wilson), Zach Woodard (South Jefferson), and John Woodworth (LeRoy) finished 5th in 3:36.77.

Keith Johnson (Webster Thomas) was 6th in the 3000 m (9:13.26), John Adewumi (Bordertown) was 7th in the triple jump (11.88) and 9th in the 60 (7.25), and Woodworth was 9th in the 500 (1:11.04).

The team returns to action next Saturday when they travel the Susquehanna Invitational. Action is slated to begin at 9:30 a.m.
