Team Effort Lifts Lady Pioneers over Titusville

All five Alfred State starters scored at least nine points as the Lady Pioneers earned a 67-61 victory over Pitt-Titusville.  Alfred State improves to 4-8 on the year while Titusville is 8-11.

In a game that featured back and forth runs by each team, the Lady Pioneers led 38-31 at the half and held off all the Panthers 2nd half rally attempts.

Jennifer Fedrick (Buffalo/Bennett) led the Lady Pioneers with 16 points and 16 rebounds. Helena Covington (Elmira Free) finished with 13 points while Marcedes Caver (Cleveland, OH) chipped in 10 points, eight boards, and five assists.  Destiny Brito (Manhattan/Park West) finished with nine points, eight boards, and six assists and Briana Meehan (Whitesville) had nine points and seven rebounds.

Alfred State shot 40.3% for the game and held a 55 to 42 advantage on the boards.

Erica Long led the Panthers with 22 points and nine boards while Wendi Walsh finished with 17 points.  Chablis Morant was a monster on the boards with 20.  Titusville connected on eight 3-pointers to keep themselves in the game.

The blue & gold continue their homestand on Thursday when they host Nazareth at 6 p.m.
