Caver Nets Career High 39 in Victory over Canton

Marcedes Caver (Cleveland, OH) scored a career high 39 points as Alfred State defeated SUNY Canton 71-50 on Saturday afternoon.  The Lady Pioneers improve to 8-9 on the season.

Caver was 17 for 26 from the field on the day and 5 for 9 from three-point land.  She also pulled down eight rebounds and was credited with five steals and two assists.  Caver's career high at Alfred State had been 34 earlier in the year at Hilbert.

Briana Meehan (Rexville) and Jennifer Fedrick (Buffalo/Bennett) each finished with nine points while Helena Covington (Elmira Free) had seven.  Destiny Brito (Manhattan/Park West) chipped in two poitns, eight rebounds, eight assists, and six steals.

Brianna Sayer led Canton with 15 points while Joelle Percy finished with nine.  The Roos shot just 27.3% from the game and turned the ball over 25 times.

Alfred State built a 40-24 lead at half and led by as many as 30 in the 2nd half.

The Lady Pioneers return to action on Thursday when they host Mercyhurst North East at 6 p.m.
