Alfred State Notches Six First Place Finishes

Rochester, NY- Alfred State Women's swimming drops season opener but tallies six first place finishes as they falls to Nazareth 131-100.

Mallory O'Keefe tallied two first place finishes, starting with the 800 free. O'Keefe touched the wall first in 10:05.00. Lydia Lapierre followed with 10:43.85 for fifth place. Then in the 400 free, O'Keefe pulled away from the pack with a time of 4:51.20, while Lapierre followed with a 5:15.26 finish for fourth place.

Madison Snayczuk also tallied two podium finishes in the 200 free and the 100 free. In the 200 free, she touched the wall in 2:18.67 for her first, first place finish. Touching the wall behind her was Adrianna Gill (2:25.67) in fourth. In the 100 free, the Pio's saw two on the podium. Ma. Snayczuk touched the wall first with a time of 1:02.48, edging out Anna Ivery who came in second with a time of 1:03.78. Ivery also had a first-place finish in the 50 free, 28.48, while Haleena Reygers finished fourth 32.27.

The Pioneers also had a three second place finishes. In the 200 IM, Emma Merrick (2:37.05) came in second and Mikaela Snayczuk (2:42.14) came in third. Mi. Snayczuk also came in second in the 100 breast as she touched the wall in 1:23.12, Reilly was right behind her touching the wall in 1:24.52 for third place.

Alyssa James had a second-place finish in the 100 back, with Reygers (1:20.32) finishing in fourth. In the 100 fly, Gill (1:20.28) and Leite (1:22.12) finished in third and fourth respectively.

The team of Ma. Snayczuk, O'Keefe, Merrick, and Ivery in first in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:54.60. While the team of James, Mi. Snayczuk, Leite, and Merrick finished second in the 200-medley relay.
