Key matchup: The Pioneers and the Vikings meet to close out the 2012 season. Both teams are coming off victories last week and the winner will be the Region III runner-up.

Collin Frazier leads the Pioneers in scoring on the season. He has scored three special teams touchdowns, a defensive touchdown, and an offensive touchdown. He returned a kick-off for a score and returned an interception for a score last week en route to winning Region III athlete of the week honors.

The Pioneers and the Vikings have three common opponents, Globe Tech, Erie CC, and Hartwick JV. Alfred and HVCC have fared exactly the same vs. each. Both teams fell to Globe and Erie and defeated Hartwick.

This game concludes the longest (in games) rivalry for Alfred State. The two teams have met every year ever since Alfred started football in 1995. Hudson Valley leads the all-time series 13 to 4 but the Pioneers have won the last two meetings.

The Pioneers won the turnover battle vs. Onondaga last week forcing five turnovers and only giving up the ball twice on interceptions.
