Pioneers finish 4th at USCAA National Championships

The Alfred State men's cross country team finished 4th at the 2013 USCAA National Championships held at Drumlins Country Club in Syracuse, NY.  The blue & gold scored a 164 in the race.

Jordan Rusek (Williamsville East) led the Pioneer contingent with a 16th place finish.  He crossed the finish line of the 8k course in 28:59.6.  Joe Seitz (Williamsville) was 22nd (29:28.8) and James Westman (Fonda Fultonville) was 33rd (30:11.0).

Kyle Glaub (West Seneca) was the 4th in for Alfred State finishing in 61st (31:22.0) and Uman Dharamshi (Roy Ketcham) was 73rd (31:55.8).  A total of 183 athletes completed the championship course.

The host SUNY ESF won the overall team title with 42 points followed by Daemen (74), Dine College (80), and Alfred State (164).  Southern Virginia was 5th (211), Warren Wilson 6th (226), Dallas 7th (265), Penn State Wilkes Barre 8th (269), West Virginia Tech 9th (271), and Albany College of Pharmacy 10th (271).  A total of nineteen schools fielded a full team.

This was the first time Alfred State has ever competed at the USCAA Championships.
