Baseball: 1-14
The blue & gold opened up play up North by splitting a doubleheader at Penn College, L 8-2 & W 9-3, and then struggled offensively vs. Penn State Dubois, L 3-2 & L 7-2.
Rafael Perozo (Bronx/St. Raymond) and Dan Woodward (Honeoye) both hit .375 (3 for 8) with 2 RBI to lead the offense.
On the mound, Brady Sass (Caledonia Mumford) earned the victory with a complete game six-hitter. He allowed two earned runs, walked one, and struck out six. Conner Odonoghue (Avon) pitched well in a loss. He allowed six hits and two earned runs in a complete game vs. Penn State DuBois.
Lacrosse: 2-6
The Pioneers couldn't overcome slow offensive starts in both of their contests this past week, falling 20-6 at Cazenovia and 18-5 at Bryn Athyn.
Aaron Buck (Churchville) led the offense with four goals and an assist while Nicolas Covelli (Carmel) scored twice. In net, Ryan Amidon (Fayetteville Manlius) made 30 saves.
Softball: 3-9
The softball team had the week off but opens up play up North this week with home doubleheaders vs. Penn College and St. Lawrence.
Outdoor Track & Field:
The outdoor track and field team had another solid day on Saturday as they competed in the Jim Taylor Invitational at Susquehanna University.
Victoire Kothor (Rochester/Greece Odyssey), Lindsey Thiel (Liverpool), Brianna Byrnes (Jordan Elbridge), and the women's 4x400 relay team recorded performances that altered the school records books.
- Kothor broke her own school record and the meet record by winning the shot put with a toss of 13.89. Kothor was also 4th in the hammer throw (43.39) and 5th in the discus (40.04 m).
- Thiel raced to a 3rd place finish in the 10,000. Her time of 41.14.98 is the 2nd best in school history.
- Byrnes was 13th in the 800 in 2:26.70 which is now 8th in school history.
- The 4x400 relay team of Angel Bresnahan (Mexico), Byrnes, Maddi McDonald (Lansing), andCassandra Ryan (Gloversville) finished 10th in 4:19.94. Their time is 10th best in school history. Bresnahan also earned a 10th place finish in the long jump (4.79 m).
Jacob Hanss (East Rochester) recorded the highest finish on the men's side. He finished 2nd in the 3,000 steeplechase in 10:12.03. Teammate Eric Hulbert (Mexico) was 4th in 10:32.61. John Adewumi (Bordertown) was 4th in the 100 (11.27) and Kyle Jones (Wilson) was 9th (11.56). Keith Johnson (Webster Thomas) was 5th in the 5,000 (15:41.21), Joseph Richardson (Geneva) was 6th in the long jump (6.23 m), and Kyle Glaub (West Seneca East) was 6th in the 10,000 (36:30.20). The 4x100 relay team of Skylor Saxon (Scio), Jones, Richardson, and Adewumi finished in 9th (44.98).
