Buck and Odonoghue Add More Honors

Alfred State lacrosse player Aaron Buck (Churchville) and baseball player Conner Odonoghue (Avon) both picked up another honor following solid performances last week. Buck was named the ECAC Metro/Upstate offensive player of the week while Odonoghue was named the USCAA pitcher of the week.

Buck led the Pioneer offense this past weekend at the USCAA Tournament. He broke his own NCAA era school record on Saturday with five goals and 10 assists in a 17-1 victory over Dallas. He then scored four goals and had three assists in a 13-10 loss to SUNY Canton. Buck has recorded a hat trick seven times this season including the last five games.

Morrisville's Christian Fiore was named the defensive player of the week and Canton's Kyle Smith was named the rookie of the week.

Odonoghue was 2-0 in his two starts on the mound this week for the Pioneers. He pitched 6.2 innings allowing three earned runs and striking out five in a victory over Elmira and then threw a complete game one-hitter vs. Maine Presque Isle. Versus the Owls he took a no-hitter into the 7th before allowing a leadoff single. Odonoghue and the Pioneers have won nine of their last ten games.

David Quartuccio of Rochester College was named the player of the week.
