StrongASanOX Virtual 5k Deemed a Success

Over 70 runners participated in the Alfred State StrongASanOX virtual 5k run/walk. Funds raised through the event went to support the college's SOS fund and the Pioneer Athletic Department.

Participants chose their own path and either walked or ran and recorded their performance. Six states were represented (NY, TX, NC, AZ, PA, and MI) as alumni, faculty and staff, and friends of the college took the treadmill, the streets, or the paths in their hometowns.

Math professor Simon Whitehouse ran the fastest reported 5k finishing in 22:06 while Coordinator of Academic Advisement Bridget Kehrer was the top reported female finisher completing her course in 22:09. Social and behavioral sciences Professor Regina Pollard and her daughter Caitlin registered the fastest reported time in the 5k walk. They walked the hills and valleys of Alfred in 49:14.
