Swim Team Earns CSCAA Scholar All-American Recognition

Both the Alfred State men's and women's swimming & diving teams were recognized as Scholar All-American by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). Alfred State is one of 720 teams, representing 443 institutions to achieve a GPA of 3.0 or higher during the Spring 2017 semester.

The men's team earned a 3.25 GPA this past semester while the women earned a 3.14. This is the second straight semester that both teams have earned this honor.

For the first time in the 95-year history of the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) more than 700 teams have received Scholar All-America recognition.  In total, 720 teams, representing 443 institutions achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the Spring 2017 Semester.  

The 720 teams honored by the CSCAA is the most in the 95-year history of the association and shows the growth of the sport. The number of men's and women's institutions sponsoring swimming and diving is at a ten-year high.  

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) – the oldest organization of college coaches in America -is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.
