Lady Pioneers Tripped up by Middlebury

Middlebury led throughout the game as they improve to 5-2 with a 70-52 victory over Alfred State on Friday evening. The Panthers were led by a trio of double-digit scorers.

Elizabeth Knox led all scorers with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Rachel Crews finished with 16 and Sabrina Weeks added 13 for the Panthers who shot 38.2% from the field and was 23 for 34 from the foul line.

Briane Meehan (Whitesville) connected on 5 three-pointers and led the Lady Pioneers with 15 points. Haley Witchella (Oxfored) finished with 10 points and 16 boards, Jennifer Fedrick (Buffalo/Bennett) had eight points, Helena Covington (Elmira Free) grabbed 10 rebounds, and Destiny Brito (Manhattan/Park West) passed out seven assists.

Alfred State shot 32.3% from the field and was only 5 for 18 from the foul line.

The Lady Pioneers (4-3) are back in action next Saturday at Houghton.
