Lady Pioneers Win 4th Straight
The Alfred State women's soccer team won their 4th straight with a 3-1 victory over Tompkins Cortland CC on Wednesday evening. The Pioneers are now 7-2 while the Panthers are 7-3-1.
Kali Muhleisen (Alfred Almond) netted a pair of goals in the 1st half to give the Lady Pioneers a lead they would never relinquish. Her first goal was unassisted while the second was assisted by Ally Vargeson (Addison).
The Panthers cut the lead to 2-1 with 33 minutes left but Chelsea Dunn (Newfane) added an insurance goal after getting a pass from Keri Teufel (Sachem).
Krista DeCarlo (West Islip) made five saves to record another victory.
The Lady Pioneers return to action on Tuesday when they battle Hilbert at 3 p.m. in a make-up game from earlier in the season.
