Lady Pioneers Shutout by Clarion

The Alfred State women's soccer team was out shot 23 to 8 and fell 3-0 to NCAA DII member Clarion University on Sunday.  The Lady Pioneers are now 8-3-1 on the year.

Mackenzie Stover scored the game winning goal just under ten minutes into the game after getting a pass from Liz Ventura.

Both teams had chances but couldn't capitalize until the Eagles were able to put the game out of reach when Kathleen Warner scored 60:02 into the game.  Stephanie Sikora added an insurance goal ten minutes later.

Laura Saussol made four saves to record the shutout while Krista DeCarlo (West Islip) made 11 saves for the Lady Pioneers.

Alfred State returns home on Wednesday when they take on St. John Fisher JV at 7 p.m.
