Lady Pioneers to Host ECAC

The Alfred State volleyball team has earned the #3 seed in the ECAC Metro-Upstate Championships this week. Alfred State has also been chosen to host the semifinals and finals on Sunday, November 16th at the Orvis Activities Center.

Ramapo College earned the #1 seed and enters the tournament with a 25-9 record. Ithaca College (23-11) is the #2 seed, Alfred State (25-9) is the #3 seed, Rutgers-Newark (16-11) is the #4 seed, and the College of New Rochelle (25-7) is the #5 seed.

Rutgers-Newark will host New Rochelle in a 1st round contest on Wednesday with the winner heading to Alfred to take on Ramapo at 11 a.m. on Sunday. Ithaca and Alfred State will faceoff in the other semifinal at 1:30 p.m. The finals will be held at 4 p.m. 

This is the first time Alfred State has been selected to participate and host an ECAC postseason tournament. 

The ECAC membership includes 300 Division I, II, and III colleges and universities representing 18 states from Maine to North Carolina and as far west as Illinois. The ECAC sponsors more than 80 championships in 37 sports.
