Avallone Tabbed AMCC Baseball Player of the Week
Alfred State baseball's Matteo Avallone has been named the AMCC Player of the Week.
In his first five games of the season, Avallone recorded 12 hits, seven runs, nine RBIs, two doubles and two home runs along with a .870 slugging percentage and .522 batting average.
He went a combined four-for-nine against the defending NCAA Division III National Champions and No. 1 ranked Salisbury College and hit two home runs, the first one being a two-run homer and the other a three-run homer.
In game two he had a .750 batting average and a 1.750 slugging percentage.
In their three-game series against Ferrum College, Avallone went eight-for-14 and had five RBIs.
