Late Rally Falls Short

The Alfred State men's basketball team ended their contest vs. Davis on a 27-14 run but could not rally all the way back as the Falcons held on for a 71-64 victory. The Falcons improve to 12-9 on the year.

Davis led 25-20 at the break and increased the lead to 57-37 with just over five minutes remaining in the contest. The Pioneers closed with 68-62 but could not get any closer.

Tommy Hutson (Brooklyn/Susan McKinney) scored 20 of his team high 22 points in the 2nd half. Jared Bard (Jordan Elbridge) added 12 points while Adam Fezza (Southhampton) came off the bench and chipped in 11 points and seven boards.

The Pioneers shot 37.3% from the field but was only 1 for 21 from beyond the three points arc. On the glass, Alfred State was out-rebounded 51-40.

Ralphael Christian led Davis with 18 points and 10 boards while Joe Daniels finished with 12 points and six boards. Justin Gardiner added 10 points and nine boards. Davis shot 34.9% from the field and was 8 for 21 from three.

The blue & gold travel to Michigan this weekend to take on Rochester on Saturday and Finlandia on Sunday.
