Pioneers Finish Third At The Conference Championship Meet

Landover, MD- Th Alfred State men's track and field team notched a third place finish at the United East indoor track and field championship meet.

Mekhi Christensen started the day with a third-place finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.03. Then in the 200-meter dash, Nicholas Florczak crossed the line in 23.22 for seventh place. In the 400 meter, Brian Clark came away with a fifth-place finish with a time of 53.03.

Mamadou Barry notched a fourth-place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:02.86, followed by Eddie Scroxton in fifth with a time of 2:03.39.

In the one-mile run, Andrew Zielinski ran a 4:43.26 to claim sixth place, while Maxwell Chiarella finished ninth.  Then in the 3000-meter run, Carter Riley finished ninth.

In the final track events, the team of Derek Walter, Scroxton, Barry, and Clark came in third in the 4x400 meter relay. Then in the distance medley, Chiarella, Kyle Brown, Aiden Bonomo, and Zielinski ran 11:52.41 for third place.

Greg Raymond won the weight throw after throwing 13.83 meters. Then in the shot put, Tyler Lantrip threw 11.95 meters to claim eighth place. Aden Alexander came in third in both the long jump and the triple jump, while Isaac Rivet came in fifth in the long jump and fourth in the triple jump. Dylan Cannon would notch a fourth place finish in the pole vault after jumping 3.00 meters
