Swimmers Split Tri-Meet at Wells

The Alfred State men's swimming team split a tri-meet at Wells on Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers defeated Wells 139-74 but fell 149-91 to Utica.

Bryce Cutler (Newton, NJ) won three events on the day to lead the Pioneers. He won the 200 free (1:57.67), the 500 free (5:18.16), and the 200 IM (2:14.30). He was also part of the 200 free relay team with Chad Blunt (Horseheads), Rob Kelso (Pine Bush), and Kyle Sporysz (Cuba Rushford) that finished 2nd (1:42.85).

John Paul Holubek won the 1000 free (11:35.99) and was 2nd in the 100 breast (1:12.61). He was also part of the 200 medley relay team with Alex Ciolek (Orchard Park), Tim Seitzinger (Bel Air, MD) and Tim Berry (Midlakes) that finished 2nd (1:58.45).

Eryn Cochran (Alfred) finished 2nd in the 200 breast (2:51.84) and 3rd in the 100 breast (1:20.15), and 3rd in the 200 IM (2:40.44).

The Pioneers have a couple weekends off before heading to the North Country Invitational on Nov. 21st.
