Pioneers and Panthers Battle to a Tie in the Pool

Alfred State and Pitt-Bradford battled to a 90-90 tie in a dual meet on Saturday afternoon. The Pioneer men finish the dual season with a 3-3-1 mark. The Panthers won the women's meet by a score of 62-22.

John Paul Holubek (Wayland Cohocton) won the 1,000 free (11.18.36) and the 100 free (59.41). He was also 2nd in the 200 breast (2:38.07). Alex Ciolek (Orchard Park) won the 50 free (25.59).

Kyle Sporysz (Cuba Rushford) won the 200 free (2:11.95) while Andrew Scelta (Warwick) was 2nd (2:12.21).

Rob Kelso (Pine Bush) was 2nd (26.82) in the 50 free and the 100 free (1:01.07) and Bryce Cutler (Newton, NJ) was 2nd in the 400 IM (4:40.06) and the 200 back (2:14.72).

Eryn Cochran (Alfred) won the 50 free (29.72) and the 200 breast (2:51.00). She was also 2nd in the 1,000 free (12:55.56).

The Pioneers also established some new team NCAA records.

  • Cochran – Record in her 500 split in the 1000 (6:17.33) & Record in the 1000 (12:55.56)
  • Holubek – Record in the 1000  (1:18.36)
  • Cutler – Record in the 400 IM (4:40.06)
  • Tim Seitzinger (Bel Air, MD) – Record in the 200 Fly (2:25.98)
