Holubek Named Rooke of the Week by ECAC

John Paul Holubek (Wayland Cohocton) has been named the ECAC Division III Upstate Rookie of the Week following a solid performance at the Jamestown CC Invitational on December 13th.

Holubek turned in a pair of first-place finishes in the 200-freestyle and the 500-freestyle with times of 2:06.4 and 5:35.2, respectively. In the 100-breaststroke, Holubek touched the wall in 1:14.6 to claim a third-place finish.

Holubek was honored along with Union College's Andrew Welch (swimmer) and Sam Hoyt (diver) by the ECAC.

Holubek is the first Alfred State swimmer to earn an honor from the ECAC.

The Pioneers return to action on January 14th when they compete at Wells.
