Lady Pioneers Wrap up Season

The Alfred State women's basketball team wrapped up their season with a hard fought 68-54 loss at Maine Fort Kent. The Lady Pioneers finish the season with a 9-15 record.

The Bengals led 13-10 after the 1st quarter and used a big 2nd quarter to head into halftime with a 34-19 lead. The Lady Pioneers outscored UMFK in the 2nd half but could never get on top.

Kelly Kane (Wellsville) led the blue & gold with 15 points while Breana Gleaton (Waldorf, MD) finished with 10. Kimberley Levee (Dansville) finished with nine points while Minnie Robinson (Washington DC) passed out 10 assists.

The Lady Pioneers shot 38.3% from the field, 17.4% (4 for 23) from three, and was 4 for 8 from the foul line. 

Samantha Carapelluci led the Bengals with 23 points and eight boards while Ericka Saucier finished with 20 points and seven board. Danielle Carrillo added 12. UMFK shot 38.6% from the floor, 50% (4 for 8) from three, and was 20 for 28 from the foul line.

The Lady Pioneers were 8-6 during the 2016 portion of their season. They finished the season winning seven of their last nine games.
