Men 6th, Women 11th at USCAA Championships

The Alfred State cross country team wrapped up the 2016 season with a successful performance at the USCAA Championships in Virginia Beach, VA. The men's team finished 6th while the women finished 11th.

Jacob Hanss (East Rochester) raced to USCAA All-American honors with a 13th place finish. He finished the 8k race in 26:41. Eric Hulbert (Mexico) was 29th (27:40), Kyle Glaub (West Seneca East) was 57th (29:00), Jesse Hallett (Honeoye) was 60th (29:13), and Joseph Kretschmar (Phoenix, AZ).

The Pioneers scored 209 in the event which featured 172 finishers and 22 teams that scored. SUNY Delhi won the championship with 46 points.

Lindsey Thiel (Liverpool) led the Lady Pioneers in the 6k course. She finished in 24:51 to earn 26th place. Emily Brigman (Lancaster) finished 49th in 26:24, Cassandra Ryan (Gloversville) was 74th in 27:42, Kelly Healy (Maple Hill) finished 84th in 28:15, and Brianna Byrnes (Jordan Elbridge) was 89th in 28:34.

Cleary (MI) won the team title with 59 points. The Lady Pioneers scored 288 in the race that featured 159 finishers and 22 scoring teams.
