Pioneers Tripped up in Consolation Game

The Alfred State men's basketball team fell 84-48 to St. Lawrence University in the consolation game of the Hilbert Tournament.  The Pioneers are now 0-2 on the year while the Saints are 1-1.

SLU used a 28-9 run in the 1st half to take a comfortable lead and led 42-20 at the break.  The Saints held a 54-36 advantage on the boards and outscored the Pioneers 25-6 on 2nd chance points.

Tommy Hutson (Brooklyn/Susan McKinney) led Alfred State with nine points and was named to the all-tournament team.  Tavon Moore (Syracuse/Bishop Grimes) and Bradley Ferraro (Mt. Morris) each finished with eight points.

Brady Condlin led St. Lawrence with 14 points and eight boards while Al Jones and Payton Stahler each chipped in 12.

The blue & gold are right back at it on Tuesday when they travel to Keuka for a 7 p.m. battle with the Storm.
