Strong 1st Half Leads Wells over Alfred St.

Wells College jumped out to a 41-20 lead at halftime and never looked back in a 74-53 victory on Tuesday evening.  The Express hit six 3-pointers in the 1st half.

Jonathan Hurtado led the Express with 13 points while Jordan Bishop chipped in 11.  Thirteen of Wells' fifteen players that appeared in the game scored with eight finishing with at least five points.

The Express shot 37.3% for the game, connected on seven 3-pointers, and held a 46 to 40 rebounding advantage.

Tavon Moore (Syracuse/Bishop Grimes) led the Pioneers with nine points off the bench.  Jared Bard (Jordan Elbridge) finished with eight and Adam Fezza (Southhampton) had seven.

Alfred shot 34% from the field, 56% from the foul line, and was slowed down by 26 turnovers.

The Pioneers return to action next Tuesday at Jamestown Olean.
