11 Threes Lead Medaille Past Pioneers

Medaille connected on 11 three-pointers as they defeated Alfred State 87-57 in the first round of the Knee Center Holiday Tournament.  The Pioneers will take on Hamilton in the consolation game on Tuesday.

Jammal Coleman connected on 3 three-pointers and led all scorers with 20.  Louie Oliveri chipped in 15 off the bench while Robby Seyler finished with 10.  The Mavericks shot 49.2% from the field and 11 for 25 from beyond the arc.

Tavon Moore (Syracuse/Bishop Grimes) led the blue & gold with 14 points while Adam Fezza (Southhampton) finished with 13.  Tommy Hutson (Brooklyn/Susan McKinney) chipped in eight points.  Alfred shot 41.2% from the field but was only 4 for 18 from three.

Medaille held a 43 to 23 advantage on the boards.

Alfred battles Hamilton at 1 p.m. on Tuesday while Medaille and Brockport play in the championship game.
