Men's Cross Country finishes 5th at USCAA Championships

The Alfred State men's cross country team finished 5th out of 15 scoring teams at the 2015 USCAA National Championships held in hot and humid weather in Lakeland, FL. The Pioneers scored a 171 on the day.

Eric Hulbert (Mexico) led the Pioneers with a 19th place finish on the 8k course. He crossed the finish line in 29:17. Jacob Hanss (East Rochester) finished 28th (29:55) followed closely by Jordan Rusek (Williamsville East) in 30th (30:06). Kyle Glaub (West Seneca East) was 51st (31:48), Austin Demberg (Minisink Valley) was 56th (32:01), Alexander Brown (Wellsville) was 75th (32:22), and Kiernan Lauber (East Aurora) was 92nd (34:34).

Berea (KY) College won the men's title with a score of 25 followed by SUNY ESF (69), SUNY Delhi (76), Paul Smith's College (135), and Alfred State. 126 athletes finished representing 23 schools competed in the event.

Lindsey Thiel (Liverpool) was the lone Lady Pioneer in the competition. She finished the 6k course in 36th place crossing the finish line in 27:14. Thiel was one of 120 finishers in the race.

The Pioneer men have finished in the top five in each of the three years the college has been a member of the USCAA.
