Game Notes:

  • The Pioneers and Eagles meet for the second straight season. Last year, Brockport scored on the opening play of the game and jumped out to a 21-0 lead and never looked back. Dan Andrews rushed for 167 yards and three touchdowns on the day. Khris Greggs led the Pioneer offense with 80 yards receiving while Steven Hubick led the defense with 12 tackles.
  • Last week at William Paterson, Alfred State allowed three touchdowns in the final five minutes of the 2nd quarter to break open a 14-7 game. Freshmen quarterback Dashon Turner finished 12 for 21 for 130 yards in his first career start. He had one touchdown pass and one interception. Jason Gordon led the receivers with 83 yards and a score on two catches. Jacob Wims rushed eight times for a team high 54 yards and a score. Defensively, Brandon Davis led the way with 14 tackles while Steven Hubick finished with 11 tackles.
  • Brockport lost a hard fought battle last weeekend to Hobart 41-35. Dan Andrews rushed for 186 yards and three scores. Julius Mizrio led the defense with 10 tackles. With the 186 yards, Andrews is now the all-time rushing leader at Brockport. He now has 3,918 yards in his career.
  • This week Alfred State will look to improve on 3rd down conversions and protecting the quarterback. They were just 5 of 13 last week and allowed five sacks.
  • The Pioneer defense recorded three sacks but did not force a turnover last week. 
  • Brockport will look to improve their 3rd down defense and try to force turnovers. Hobart was 10 of 18 on the day and did not turn the ball over. Hobart racked up 490 total yards in the contest.
  • The Eagles have 43 returning letterwinners on their roster including 17 starters. 
  • This the first night game at Alfred State since October 18, 2014. In that contest the Pioneers defeated Erie CC 10-3
  • Alfred State will welcome members of the Canisteo Youth Football League to the game.
  • The athletic department will hold the 2016 Hall of Fame Ceremonies in the afternoon prior to kickoff. Recently retired cross country coach Gary Moore will be the lone inductee. The ceremony will also honor two of Coach Moore's National Championship teams - the 2000 men's outdoor track team and the 2007 women's outdoor track and field team. Moore will be honored again in a pregame ceremony before opening kickoff.
