Pioneers Down Behrend - Improve to 3-0

The Alfred State men's swimming & diving team improved to 3-0 with a 164-130 victory over Penn State Behrend in their AMCC opener. Kellen Fletcher (Wrightstown, NJ) set two new school records in the victory.

Fletcher set new ASC NCAA era records in winning the 200 fly (1:56.59) and the 100 fly (51.80). Fletcher also won the 200 IM (1:59.80). Luca Aldewereld (Cleveland, OH) improved his school record in the 50 free by winning in 21.63.

Brianna Dixon (Brentwood, NH) won the 200 back (2:01.02) and was 2nd in both the 100 breast (55.15) and 200 IM (2:05.98). Westin Perry (Canisteo Greenwood) won the 100 breast (54.70) while Stuart Yates (Naples) won the 100 breast (59.75)

Austin Miller (Hornell) won the 1 m diving competition with a score of 231 and won the 3m with a score of 261.65. Samuel Ricci (Oaks, PA) was 2nd with 229.10 on the 1m and 2nd with 204.90 on the 3m.

The 200 medley relay team of Perry, Yates, Jazz Widney (Tulsa, OK), and Aldewereld won in 1:36.72 while the 400 free relay team of Parker Brod (East Aurora), Aldewereld, Yates, and Micah Schwartz (Ithaca) was 2nd in 3:20.07.

The Pioneers host Franciscan and Wells next Saturday starting at 1 p.m.
