200 Medley Breaks AMCC Record, Pioneers in First After Day One at Championships

The Alfred State men's swimming & diving team is in first place overall and in the AMCC after the first day of the Allegheny Empire Swimming & Diving Championships.

The 200-yard medley relay of Westin Perry (Canisteo Greenwood), Stuart Yates (Naples), Jazz Widney (Tulsa, OK) and Luca Aldewereld (Cleveland, OH) broke the AMCC conference record after winning with a time of 1:32.10.

Austin Miller (Hornell) won the 3-meter dive with a score of 420.50.

The 800-yard freestyle relay of Westin Perry (Canisteo Greenwood), Kellen Fletcher (Wrightstown, NJ), Luca Aldewereld (Cleveland, OH) and Collin Vimislik (Fairport) broke the school record after finishing second with a time of 6:57.59.

Perry led off the relay with a time of 1:42.33 which set a new school record.

Day two action begins at 10 a.m. with preliminary rounds, diving begins at approximately 1 p.m., and the finals start at 5:30 p.m.
