Anthony Kahwaty (Lake Hopatcong, NJ/Edison Tech)

Major: Computer Information Systems

Coach Weston: "Anthony is a great pickup for us that provides critical support within our Breaststroke and IM groups. He is a versatile swimmer and I am extremely excited he chose to be a Pioneer. The biggest impact he will have will be seen at AMCC's, as he has already posted top-6 times. I can't wait to see what he can do in our environment and with teammates that are ready to push each other!"

Notes: Son of Michael and Josephine, the 148th ranked swimmer in New Jersey according to CollegeSwimming.com. 4 year member of the Jefferson Township Falcons Swimming & Diving Team. Placed 4th in both the 100 Breast and 500 Free at the 2017 Sussex County Championships. Named Team Captain his Senior Year. Team MVP as a Junior and a Senior. 2014 Todd Agresto Sportsmanship Award recipient for the Lake Forest Swim Team. 2017 Randolph YMCA State Team member.

Nathan Miller (Walworth, NY/Gananda)

Major: Mechanical Engineering

Coach Weston: "Nate is a tremendous addition to our program and will be our 2nd straight standout student-athlete from Gananda to become a Pioneer, joining Sophomore Ryan McDowell. Nate's versatility opens up a world of possibilities for our lineup and he will have the chance to discover his niche a little more as we test him in various events throughout the season. Having the potential to final in several events will go a long way in helping us reach our goal of an AMCC Championship."

Notes: Son of Charles and Michelle Miller. The 306th ranked swimmer in New York State according to collegeswimming.com. Placed 3rd in both the 100 Butterfly and 100 Breaststroke at the 2017 Section V Class C Championship. Member of 3 school relay records for the Gananda Blue Panthers. Named a Team Captain as a Senior. Volunteers for the Boy Scouts of America and has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout from Troop 167 in Macedon.

Devin Peters (Buffalo, NY/Maryvale)

Major: Electrical Construction & Maintenance Electrician

Coach Weston: "Devin will have an opportunity here at Alfred to grow and develop with our training. He will be added depth in distance and butterfly, which will help us tremendously in duals. I'm looking forward to seeing him go through an entire year college-level training to see what he can do at the end of the year."

Ethan Tatro (Lockport, NY/Lockport)

Major: Criminal Justice

Events: Sprint Freestyle

Coach Weston: "Ethan is an absolute game changer for us coming to campus in the Fall. As a New York State Meet qualifier in the 50 Free, his best time would have taken home the victory at the AMCC Championship meet last year. Ethan is going to be a major factor in our success over the next 4 years and has an opportunity to leave a lasting impact for many years to come."

Notes: Son of Jennifer Tatro. The 133rd ranked swimmer in New York State according to collegeswimming.com. 2017 Section VI Class A Runner up in the 50 Freestyle and 3rd place finisher in the 100 Freestyle. 2017 Niagara Frontier League Champion in the 50 Freestyle and Runner Up in the 100 Freestyle. Russell Zagrobelny (East Aurora, NY/East Aurora)

Major: Mechanical Engineering

Events: Backstroke

Coach Weston: "Russell was a late addition to our incoming class of 2017 as we met at the last Open House held on campus, but he is going to have a significant impact as a Freshman. As a backstroker he has posted times that will push our returners for A relay spots very early on. His addition rounds out an impressive Freshman Class that has enough talent that I wouldn't be surprised to see several amongst our highest point scorers at the end of the year."

Notes: Son of Steve and Paula Zagrobelny.
