Track Competes at Highlander Invitational

The Alfred State indoor track & field team continued their 2017 season on Friday by competing at the Highlander Invitational hosted at the Kerr-Pegula Fieldhouse at Houghton College.

Anders Presthus led the way with a 2nd place finish in the shot put with a toss of 13.79 m. In the pole vault, Zach Curran (Williamson) finished 4th with a leap of 4.42 m.

The women's distance medley relay team finished 2nd in 15:38.31 while the men's distance medley relay team was 6th (12:49.12).

Lindsey Thiel (Liverpool) was 17th in the 800 (2:46.64) and was 20th in the 1 mile (5:50.59) while Kelly Healy (Maple Hill) was 13th in the 600 (1:59.73).

Jacob Hanss (East Rochester) was 24th in the 800 (2:22.42) and 34th in the 1 mile (4:57.99) while Eric Hulbert (Mexico) was 22nd in the 800 (2:20.17). The men's 4x400 relay team finished 11th in 3:57.45.

The Pioneers head to the SPIRE Midwest Open next weekend to compete on Friday and Saturday.
