Presthus Wins Three Events at Allegany County Classic

Anders Presthus (Lansing) won three events to highlight Alfred State's day at the Allegany County Classic at Houghton College. In total the Pioneers won four events and had many top three performances.

Presthus won the shot put (13.78 m), the hammer throw (39.18 m), and the discus (39.80 m). He also finished 4th in the javelin (36.32 m). Zach Curran (Williamson) also claimed an individual title by winning the pole vault, which was held indoors, with a vault of 4.28 m.

Caleb Boyce-Wright (Cheektowaga/John Kennedy) was 2nd in the 400 (54.70) while Trevor Stiles (Hornell) was 3rd (55.50). Nku Henry (Bronx/Cardinal Hayes) was 2nd in the 100 (11.60) while Marquis Edwards (Queens/In-Tech Academy) was 3rd (11.68). Edwards was also 4th in the 200 (24.35). Austin Demberg (Westtown/Minisink Valley) was 3rd in the 3,000 (9:59.43).

In the field events, Joseph Richardson (Geneva) was 2nd in the long jump (5.77 m) and 2nd in the high jump (1.70 m) while Bradley Marshall (Jordan Elbridge) was 3rd in the discus (28.17 m).

The quartet of Stiles, Michael Girard (Phoenix), Boyce-Wright, and Kaieel Ward (Brooklyn/Thomas Jefferson) finished 2nd in the 4x400 in 3:51.33.

Lindsey Thiel (Liverpool), Holly Fiore (Niagara Falls), and Kimberly Levee (Dansville) led the women's team. Thiel recorded the 4th fastest time in school history in her 2nd place finish in the 3,000 (11:29.77). Fiore was 2nd in the high jump (1.25 m) and 3rd in the javelin (23.95 m) while Levee was 3rd in the shot put (9.19 m), 3rd in the discus (28.31 m), and 4th in the javelin (21.94 m).

Carrie Parker (Brooklyn/UFT Secondary Charter) was 4th in both the 100 (14.68) and the 200 (30.45). She was also part of the 4x100 relay team that finished 2nd (58.91). In the 4x100 she teamed with Raean Paryz (Lake Shore), Dannielle O'Buckley (Queens/Ansbach), and Jhailyn Pichardo (New York/HS for Economics & Finance).
