Pioneers Compete at Westminster

The Alfred State outdoor track team had several strong performances at the Westminster Invitational on Saturday. The Pioneers were competing for the third time in the last seven days.

Andrew Rubenstahl (Washingtonville) recorded the top individual finish on the day. He was 8th in the pole vault with a leap of 3.60 m.

Other top men's performances included: Eric Hulbert (Mexico) was 9th in the steeplechase (10:27.75), Marquis Edwards (Queens/In-Tech) finished 13th in the 100 (11.66) and 21st in the 200 (23.83), Bradley Marshall (Jordan Elbridge) was 16th in the shot put (11.48 m), and Kaieel Ward (Brooklyn/Thomas Jefferson) was 17th in the 400 (54.74).

The women's 4x100 relay team of Dannielle O'Buckley (Queens/Ansbach), Carrie Parker (Brooklyn/UFT Secondary Charter), Holly Fiore (Niagara Falls), and Jhailyn Pichardo (New York/HS for Economics & Finance) finished 8th in 58.00 - five seconds faster than their previous best time this season.

Kelly Healy (Maple Hill) was 15th in the 800 (2:32.51) and Lindsey Thiel (Liverpool) was 16th in the 5000 (19:46.58).

The Pioneers continue their season when they head to Brockport on Friday (4/14) evening.
