Lady Spikers Split Four Matches at SUNYIT Tournament

The Alfred State volleyball split four matches at the SUNYIT Tournament over the weekend.  The Lady Pioneers defeated D'Youville 3-1 and Utica 3-0 but fell 3-0 to SUNY Canton and 3-1 to SUNYIT.

Versus Canton, the Kangaroos downed the Pioneers 25-18, 25-19, 25-9.  Lera Braun (Waterloo) led the way with 12 assists and five digs.  Mallory Eberhardt (Lyons) and Jessica Ramsey (Tioga) each chipped in 10 digs.

Ashley Hulse (Hammondsport) recorded 11 kills to lead the way in the 25-22, 25-19, 21-25, 25-21 victory over D'Youville.  Braun finished with 32 assists, seven digs, and five kills while Eberhardt chipped in eight kills.  Ramsey registered 16 digs and Jessica Padley (Buffalo/Sweet Home) had 10.

Braun passed out 33 assists registered 10 digs and was credited with eight kills in the 20-25, 25-20, 23-25, 19-25 loss to SUNYIT.  Eberhardt finished with nine kills and eight digs, Rebecca Hanrahan (Greene) had nine kills, Mishaya Tuttle (Campbell Savona) had 15 digs, and Padley chipped in 14 digs.

Grace Hall (Ellicottville) recorded 10 kills and three blocks in the 25-20, 25-17, 25-18 victory over Utica.  Braun passed out 27 assists, Eberhardt and Hulse both had six kills, and Padley led the team with seven digs.

The Lady Pioneers are now 11-7 on the season and will host Houghton College on Tuesday evening in their first home game in nearly a month.  Opening serve is slated for 7 p.m.
